Boredome. Something Nathan Bailey was not a big fan of. Something he tried his best at all times to stave off. But here he was, lounged in as comfortable a position as he could manage sitting lengthwise across one of the stone benches within the corridors of the school. All he had to entertain himself was a simple Zonko's Super Bouncy Ball that he was tossing at the floors and walls to bounce off of every surface and come right back to him.
Of course Nath was clever enough to know exactly where to throw it and exactly how hard to throw it as well in order for it to come right back to him. And it did so every time. He was sharp as a tack, or whatever sort of phrase you wanted to use about how clever he could be, but he had only one weakness - the girls. It was the only time in which his mind would slip.
No, he wasn't the type to make a fool of himself. Quite the contrary, he was still clever and could always manage to get the girl. Instead, he had the habit of leaving his current girl as soon as he found someone else that seemed interesting. He simply couldn't pick just one, or stick to one for very long at that. It was this sway of his emotions that was always his downfall.
The only acception was one Pansy Parkinson, who he would never think to date since he had been friends with her as far back as he can remember. She and her family had been more like his own extended family to him, thus making her like a sister. And of course, one would never have such a relationship with their own sister. Granted, they did tend to go with cousins, but that was still at least a bit farther along on the family tree rather than the same branch.
When it came to Pansy, Nath could remember being shown photographs of the two of them and some of their other siblings all taking baths together. It's something that has always been the impetus of many good hearted jokes. Some such jokes include 'I've seen you naked' and the retort of 'You were too young to remember it on your own.' and other such pokes and prods at each other, both ways.

Pansy walked about the school with a bit of a spring in her step, whistling a silly sort of tune nannies sang to the young when they were restless. Why? Well there really was no good reason for it. The girl had no reason whatsoever to be in such a good mood. She was back at school, the school work was already starting to load up on her and her freedom she had experienced over the summer was now stripped from her. No sir, there was no good reason whatsoever for Pansy to be in such a tittering mood! Yet, she was. It was all quite odd really.
Now, she was never the sort of girl who liked to say she was bored. Boredom was for those that lacked imaginations and everyone who knew her knew that Pansy Parkinson was quite the imaginative sort of girls. She could find fun in just about anything, if it be a game of exploding snaps ((shit is that what they are called?)) or finding someone to rip apart! Anything would do really, it never much mattered to her. And although to those that didn't know her would say she was, well, a bitch, to those that she called a friend they would say that Pansy Parkinson was quite a good laugh. Because really, she was!
Of course in that particular moment the girl was just looking for something to do, or someone to torment for it really was one in the same. But unfortunately for her there seemed to be no one about, which really was quite odd because it was a beautiful day and it was a Saturday. But then she gathered it was quite early and not many people would be mulling about quite yet. Well that is besides herself and Oh Nathan!
Pansy smiled with glee as she came across him, lounging about and bouncing one of those god awful balls he was so fond of. There weren't many people Pansy 'loved' but that boy just a few feet away was surly one of them. Of course Draco never seemed to happy over her dedication to the Ravenclaw, but she never let that bother her too much. Draco was just jealous and never liked her having any other friends but himself. So, although when at school Nathan and herself weren't that close, there was still that underline bond that ran thick between the two. She gathered with the baths they use to take together as children.
Creeping up as quietly as she could, Pansy moved towards him until she was standing just above him. Grinning from ear to ear she lent over his relaxed form quickly, hoping to startle him.
"Oi, goober!" She all but shouted at him with laughter, so worked up over her own scheming she hadn't been paying attention to the ball he had just, moments before, tossed at the wall once more. And just as the words came from her lip the stupid piece of rubber came colliding with her temple... and hard!
"AAAHHHH"

As Nathan was laying there bouncing his ball, he began to wonder exactly when the other students were going to be getting up. He knew it was a Saturday, and that he had gotten up a bit earlier than normal, but there should still be more students wandering the corridors. Hell he hadn't even seen many in the Great Hall eating breakfast. Though he had left them as there hadn't been anyone of real interest partaking in the early morning nosh.
Just as he was musing about finding some company, as well as a moment after he had chucked his little ball against the stone of the floor again, he was startled quite fiercely by a long haired brunette practically screaming in his face. Of course the boy jumped and fell off of the bench, but with the precision that he had initially intended, the ball he had just released came bounding right back to where his hand would have been to catch it. Only the girl's head was right in that exact spot.
Still rubbing his sore bum from his fall, he couldn't help but burst out in laughter as his ball caught the girl's temple. Granted, he did eventually recognize her as Pansy, but it changed nothing about how funny he found the situation.
"And so the wicked receive their just reward!" he said mockingly as he continued to laugh as well as rub his sore arse, "I've never seen Karma work so quickly."
He continued to snicker as he pulled himself back up onto the bench as he watched how she reacted to her own pain. Just as quickly as she had come up on him, he had turned his attention from her pain to where his ball had gone off to. He knew that it had bounce clean off of her head, but after that it was a blur. Of course he began his calculations to deduce where it had gone after hitting his friend's head and was now on his feet to go find the silly thing.
It didn't take him long to find it, and as soon as he had he was back to bouncing it off the floor. This time, however, he was just doing a simple bounce that anyone could figure out as far as where it was going to go: just a simple down and back up to his hand. Nothing fancy like before, because while it had been very funny, he didn't actually want to hit Pansy with it again. That would just be cruel, and he was only like that with those he found annoying. Pansy was anything but annoying. Well, most of the time. She was the only girl outside of his family that he hadn't shown any sort of attraction to. And of course he had that weakness for the ladies, but she had never seemed to fit into that category.

Pansy frowned at his laughter, the whole time rubber her temple vigorously in a way to dull the throbbing pain. "You're a right arse, you do know this?" she muttered at him as she found herself plopping down next to him on the bench he was once more sitting on. That was one thing that always drove her mental when it came to him, for he always seemed to be able to one up her, no matter what she did. He was like that friend, who was just a inch taller, a dash smarted and a pinch more wittier and although you loved them you still tried day in and day out to one up them. Yes, that was who this boy was to Pansy, the bane of her existence.
But then if her own head hadn't been killing her in that moment Pansy was sure that she would be laughing at the whole thing herself, because really, it all was quite funny. And although her lips were curled downwards into quite the little frown, if anyone were to look closely they would be able to see the twinkle of amusement dancing within her green eyes. There weren't many people on this earth that Pansy Parkinson would let talk to her in such a manner and luckily for everyone involved Nathan was one of the very few. However, it really was a good thing that no one else was about, because even though she allowed such cheek from him in privet, when in public it was a different story. But that was an event for another time.
She looked about once more and realized that he had been alone, which for him was very unusual. Nathan was a pretty sort of bloke and for what she could remember, always had some slag hanging over his arm. It was actually quite rare for her to spend any kind of time with him, just to two of them and once she realized that they were the only ones in the courtyard she became excited.
"What, no Jane? I'm surprised not to see her anywhere, but then, my head is still throbbing like a bitch so I could just be missing her." Pansy said to him as she watched the boy get up and began looking for his ball that had disappeared the moment it smacked into her scull. Jane, was the name Pansy had dubbed every one of the boys girlfriends because he really had way too many for her to keep track. Merlin’s knew that Pansy loved Nathan, but when it came down to it was just about the biggest sleeper and not only in the school but she was pretty sure in the entire wizarding world.
((worst post ever! Haha sorry. Idk where my muse went! Silly muse must be on vacation.))

Nathan smirked with a short, deep throated laugh when she said that he was an arse. Of course he was an arse, that was how he played it. He found much more amusement in being a right piece of work than being a perfect gentleman, even though he could be if absolutely necessary.
"Of course I know. Why wouldn't I know the simplest part about myself? Unless of course you are under the assumption that I believe myself a prissy little girl." he replied as he pocketed the ball before putting on a fake girl accent complete with mock prissy movements. "Oh dear I broke a nail. What ever shall I do?"
He let out a muffled snicker as he made his final approach to Pansy as she continued to sit on the bench that he had left her on. His head tilted to one side when she started to be smart with him about the fact that he was alone, followed by a whimper of pain about her head. His smirk traveled a bit farther now as he took her head in his hand and put on a very obvious fake French seduction tone.
"No love, ve are alone in zis 'allway." he said as he placed a kiss on her temple where the ball had hit only moments before. Dropping the new accent, he continued in his normal annoying tone. "You're not still on about the stupid ball hitting your head. Bloody hell, I didn't even throw it all that hard."

Pansy’s initial reaction was to laugh the moment the silly and quite horrid accent came from the boy. A low, yet rowdy laughter came floating from the slytherins lips and glided throughout the courtyard, bouncing against the stone walls with a great echo. It was joyful , yet still held just the slightest mocking tone that was always in sync with her tittering. She was the sort of girl who was easily amused and it was apparent by her festive reaction towards Nathan just how entertained she was in that moment.
Her second reaction was to hiss in disgust, for the moment the boys lips came collided with her temple her laughter halted and was replaced with a mixture of humored yet revolted chuckles. Although she was still giggling slightly, she did her best to make a show of her displeasure over his action. Sure, they were both quite affectionate towards one another but it was still a bit awkward and almost uncomfortable. He was more like a brother then a lover, so for when such interactions with him might come across to others as a flirt, to them it was more jolly hazing.
"oh, ewwwww...." she hissed as she brought her small hands up to the spot and made a show to wiped away at his unmarked kiss! "That's revolting! I don't want your slobber all over me.. I haven’t the slightest idea where those lips of yours have been! I'm liable to catch something!"
Even though her words were harsh, they were meant in jest and as she said the cruel things to him she brought her hands to his shoulders and pushed upon him lightly, in a way to playfully get his physical being away from her own. Although it appeared as though they were alone, Pansy still had her guard up and didn't fancy anyone walking by and getting the wrong impression.
That was one thing Pansy could say about herself with pride: her impeccable reputation. Sure, she was know as 'the bitch', 'the hag' and even 'the ice queen' but she had never been know as 'a slag'! Of course she wasn't 'pure' per say, but she really ever only had one boyfriend in her life and was perfectly content with the situation. Therefore, the idea that someone would think that Nathan and herself were anything but 'friends' didn't sit well with her. If anything, it was one of the reasons she tended to drift away from him once they went back to Hogwarts, she didn't fancy being thought of as 'his slag of the week'.

If there was one thing that Nathan loved about being around Pansy it was her laugh. The boy could say that he would do just about anything to make her laugh, but the fact of the matter was that he never really had to even try to make her laugh. He always seemed to do and say the right things that would make her laugh. Now, obviously, there were the occasions where he would do or say something that she happened to not find amusing. And this specific occasion happened to have one of each.
Her reactions to his fake accents were all fine, but then he knew he had pushed it too far with the play kiss. This was made apparent by the sound of disgust in her voice and the move she made to wipe the invisible sign of affection off of her head. Not to mention how she verbalized her disgust and said something about not knowing where his lips had been. He had to give it to her, she did have a point about that that he just hadn't thought of. But the fact of the matter was that, for him, it was what he would have done for either of his sisters or his cousins.
"Oh come off it," he said before she pushed him away. Of course now she was in for it. He knew she was just messing around with him, but all that would lead to was him doing the same thing. So once he regained his balance, he mock glared at her and started to pretend to pout as he huffed and crossed his arms before turning his back to her and starting to walk away.
"Well fine then," he said in his pouty voice that he had used on her before when he wanted something from her, "If you don't want me around then I'll just go back to my common room."
